New to the area , we realize there are not a lot of restaurants in town so it was not a surprise to see Effina's was busy on a Friday night. We decided to to put our name on the list and wait inside, of course we observed people came and put their name on the list, after 45 minutes, the people that came after us decided to leave and told the host, next thing we know they got a table, and we are still waiting, is not a good feeling. We got up and left. I do not blame the young host, after observing for 45 minutes
Always a nice place to eat. The food is well prepared and the service is great. The atmosphere is a moderately quiet intimate setting. It can be busy at times but always a nice place to eat.
Would highly recommend this restaurant.
This place is hit or miss. I've eaten here and been pleased and also disappointed. With limited food options in Jacksonville this can be a popular stop, but to me it's worth the drive to Olive Garden in Oxford. The food is just not worth the money that you pay. Aesthetically it's a nice restruant.
Excellent service, excellent food, very attractive place. We were there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were promptly greeted and seated. The salads and bread were brought to us quickly. Very fresh and tasty. We selected the classics of lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs. Both were very generous portions and very tasty.
This place is OK for Jacksonville, AL. I would have given it a generous 2 stars anywhere else. The food was nothing to get excited about. The servers appeared to be genuine people wanting to serve as well as they can.
I did not see anyone in charge, everyone seemed really young and working hard, but no manager that was visible or taking charge, there should have been someone up front helping. That is why they get my one star, I never got a chance to try the food. Maybe they do thing differently here.
