Rent is subject to a month to month fee that is breaches taylor's standard lease agreement, if you challenge Taylor on it he will matter-of-factly tell you he can raise your rent whenever he wants as long as he give you 15 day notice.
-flexible lease options
I lived in these apartments for 2 years always paid rent and took great care of my unit and this is how I was treated. I would not consider living in these units.
Also, be aware the property managers do not care about their tenants and typically only tell you what you want to hear without ever following through with what they say they will do.
Good place if you don't mind getting the run-around all the time and if you want to set meetings with the property manager every time you need to see him because they are never available for walk-ins.
TL;DR
Keep an eye out for more bugs than usual. If they get bad, you have to go through every channel possible to maybe get it resolved.
-swift responses/communication
I've lived in Taylor properties since 2010, and have had little to no issues with management. I've always been able to get in touch with the landlord, who has many open lines of communication (mobile number, office number, email, and online portal). Once I had a bug problem when I first moved into Coliseum apartments and expressed my concerns to both Bryan Taylor and the exterminator, and the problem was swiftly eradicated. Naturally over the course of seven years I have had multiple maintenance requests--all of which were handled expeditiously. A little patience and clear communication goes a long way when dealing with someone managing several properties.
-affordable rates
Don't expect anyone to communicate with you in a timely manner (except the maintenence guys or something that is going to cost them lots of money). Make sure you read the lease multiple times because they won't tell you anything. Expect a high power bill even if you don't have a washer and dryer. Make this place your last option. And make sure you email, not call, because you need to have proof of everything that was said.
Great place to live! Extremely affordable and flexible lease terms!
*warning* Some of his properties are very ideal for a student or someone looking for a place to lay their head. Be warned that most of his properties get broken into multiple times a year so insurance is a must. In the 2 years I lived her I have known of over 10 incidents of my friends being burglarized.
When my apartment was broken into Taylor promised he would do whatever he had to to prevent future break-in's from happening and after a year came to INCORRECTLY install security bars on the windows and gates to our yard that can be removed by anyone who looks at the brackets which aren't mounted.
I would definitely recommend to anyone who has their ish together.
-understanding staff
Had a bug problem when I moved in. Kept the bugs until I had to pitch a fit and get out of the rest of my lease. This company has two people running it and they are unable to keep up. The bug guy repeatedly forgets to visit/revisit your apartment for bugs and you have to go through the property manager just to have a possibility of the bug guy returning for a problem. My A/C went out and I had to keep it for another 2 weeks running all the time just for them to make sure it actually needed to be replaced. Maintenance people are very nice and helpful. Bryan (property manager) is a nice guy but very short with people. If you actually want anything done you have to go above his head to someone that will listen and get things done.
